I’m a writer living and working in the Milwaukee metro area. My poetry and short fiction have appeared in both print and online publications, including Willow Review, Thunderclap!, Postcard Shorts, Vestal Review, Microw, Full of Crow, Midwestern Gothic, and Blink Ink. Susan Kolens; Susan K. Maciolek; and Lily Mack – a pen name – are all me. I’ve also written a young adult novel that’s now in final revisions. I draw, too, and you can click on the Sketchbook link to see some of my artwork. My drawings and collage have been displayed in 15 exhibits throughout Illinois and Wisconsin in years past. Currently I have work on view in my Oak Creek studio. Other projects include writing and illustrating three picture books, Adobe Dreams, Twirl, and Chiffon.
I’m a veteran of a several writers’ groups and long-time participant in Red Bird/Red Oak Studio round tables. For the past five years I’ve been a member of the VC Writers, a critique group that meets twice a month in Cudahy, Wisconsin
